Make a Holiday Candy Wrapper for Family and Friends
Most people have a whole host of friends and family to buy gifts for during the holiday season. This can really have a huge impact on your monthly budget. Although you want to give each person something memorable and special, you don’t want to break your piggy bank. There’s a great solution to this holiday problem and that’s creating a personalized holiday candy wrapper to give out to some of the individuals on your gift list.
When we think of holiday candy we usually think of those boring boxes of chocolates that come pre-wrapped with a red ribbon. Although this is a lovely gesture, it lacks the pizzazz of giving someone a chocolate bar in a holiday candy wrapper. The wrapper itself takes center stage and becomes more of a gift than the sweet treat it’s covering. You can easily dress up or dress down a holiday candy wrapper to suit the personality of the person receiving it.
Many of us want something inexpensive yet memorable to give out to special people on our gift lists such as our kids’ babysitter, the hairdresser, or the mail delivery person. Giving them a gift certificate to a local coffee bar or book store is a nice gesture but consider giving them a fine German chocolate bar in a holiday candy wrapper. You can put a festive design on the wrapper and a personal message thanking them for all their hard work during the past year. They’ll cherish the wrapper and relish the chocolate.
This also works well if you want to give a small token to friends and family to show them how important they are to you. Why not put a family photo on the holiday candy wrapper along with the date. The wrapper will be put in many scrapbooks and you’ll get loads of compliments on how original and thoughtful your gift was.
Holiday parties are a given during the latter part of December and if you’re the host it’s always a nice gesture to give the guests a little something to take home. You can make a holiday candy wrapper that fits small bars for this occasion. Alongside a picture of a snowflake or poinsettia you can place a seasonal message of goodwill. Place a handful of these in a clear glass bowl near your home’s front entrance so guests are sure to take one when they leave for the night.
Don’t forget how much kids love chocolate. You don’t have to ask a child twice if they want a chocolate bar. Making up a holiday candy wrapper for your child to give to their teacher and classmates is a great idea. You can purchase small bars in bulk so the cost is minimal and you can even get your youngster to help with the design.
The ideas are really endless when it comes to creating and using a festive holiday candy wrapper. This is a great way to begin a new family tradition of giving something crafty and creative to the people you care about.
