Novelty Mirrors – Dancing with Dinosaurs

I wonder what life was like without mirrors. I am sure some would say life would be much kinder without them!  Did ancient men and women have to make do with squinting into rain puddles? I imagine for the ladies, applying make up would have been a real trauma, trying to keep the puddle still whilst dodging the neighbour’s tyrannosaurus rex!

How conscious are we of the mirrors in our homes? How many mirrors do we have dotted about different rooms into which we may have a passing glimpse as we are rushing past?

My partner’s favourite mirror is the large, full length mirror in the hallway, conveniently (or inconveniently if you are having a bad hair day) situated by the front door, so one can “check†oneself before racing out into the big wide world!

I also remember when I was a kid, we lived in a great big house and my dad had acquired a giant mirror to suit. It was on the balcony landing that we had and almost every visitor who came through the front door would comment on this impressive full length mirror.

I suppose my favourite mirror would rather boringly be my shaving mirror! I don’t know about the rest of you guys but trying to shave without bathroom mirrors can be an absolute nightmare. Not only do you have the increased hazard of slicing your face open but sometimes even more embarrassing is completely missing a huge chunk of facial hair! Not a good look I assure you!

There are all kinds of other mirrors and I suppose they all serve the same practical purpose but some, such as novelty mirrors can be much more fun, especially for kids to have in their bedrooms with their favourite themes and interests represented.

You can find mirrors at most home accessories stores on the high street, not to mention discount stores as well. People will always need a mirror and perhaps a great way of getting a new one is to buy mirrors online. The choice is almost endless and prices can be very competitive and reasonable.
